Hymn Playing and Organ Registration
Instructor: Mr Wong Ching Yin

Target Students: Aspiring service organists are welcome
Content: By learning to play hymns on the organ, this course helps students understand the structure of an organ, the use of different stops and basic organ-playing techniques. It is for those aspiring to become service organists.
Fee: $1000 (active students); $400 (observers)
Remarks:
- This course only accepts a maximum of 5 active students.
- Applicants for “active students” should achieve ABRSM Grade 5 Piano or an equivalent qualification.
Advanced Choral Conducting
Instructor: Mr Felix Yeung (Provincial Music Director)
Dates: 10/5, 17/5, 24/5, 7/6 (Sat, 4 lessons in total)
Time: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm (10/5, 17/5, 24/5); 10:30 am – 1:00 pm (7/6)
Venue: St John’s Cathedral
Target Students: Suitable for experienced choral conductors
Content: This course strengthens students’ music analysis skills, refines their conducting posture and explores various interpretative possibilities. An octet will join in the last lesson as the demonstration choir, allowing students to learn in a practical setting.
Fee: $1000 (active students); $400 (observers)

- This course only accepts a maximum of 6 active students.
- Priority is given to choirmaster of HKSKH Churches and parishes, and those who completed Ming Hua Theological College’s Fundamental Choral Conducting course for registering as active students.
Short-term Fundamental Singing Course
Instructor: Mr Lau Yik Long (Provincial Music Officer)
Dates: 14/6, 21/6, 28/6, 5/7 (Sat, 4 lessons in total)
Time: 10:30 am – 11:45 am
Venue: Ming Hua Theological College
Target Students: Suitable for beginners who want to improve singing techniques
Content: By learning two art songs, this course helps students develop proper singing posture and acquire fundamental vocal techniques.
Fee: $1000 (active students)
Remarks:
- This course only accepts a maximum of 4 active students, no observer is accepted.
Remarks:
- All courses are taught in Cantonese.
- Under normal circumstances, no refund will be offered once the student pays the lesson fee.
- Except for 1) severe weather; 2) instructor illness; or 3) other force majeure reasons, we will not arrange make-up classes.
- If the number of applications are insufficient, the department may cancel the course.
